Thankful!!

So much to be thankful for.......This morning was great as I was able to have coffee with my great friend, Cassie and her daughter Kearsten. We became friends at work, but much closer when we had our children 2.5 weeks apart. (Kel if you are reading this it sooooo reminded me of you and I with the Zach and Jaz).....

Anyway, we caught up on lots, but the coolest part for me was that we are able to talk openly about our relationship with God! This is such a blessing for me and it shows me perspective from a friend as well as through a friend who has a personal belief that aligns with mine.

On another note, I have been following the blog "Praying for Harper".....Yesterday at work (I work as a Social Worker in the NICU), I asked, "What is ECMO?" (something that Harper may need). The neonatologist grimaced and said sternly "Why who needs ECMO?" I knew this was not a good sign and I became overwhelmingly sad for these parents. Well, today I read her blog and Harper has been weaned from 100% oxygen to 80% and things are looking better. Is she out of the clear? Heck no, but keep the prayers coming because He is working Miracles with that Baby Harper!!

Say a Prayer for Harper and her family....

SELECT THE BUTTON PRAYING FOR HARPER AND SAY A PRAYER....

It is always amazing to me that technology is so advanced and cannot imagine what it will do in the future for us. Sometimes this is used for damaging things to our families....however God works through the internet as well and He is Almighty!

Please tonight, if you pray add baby girl Harper to yours....she is struggling for her life at this time and her parents and loved ones are very frightened to say the least.

Lord, please cradle baby Harper in your hands and heal her broken body, give peace to her parents and the people that already love her so much. Give them the support they need and the strength to walk through this, whatever the outcome. You are the ultimate Healer and have done such marvelous works and we thank you for that! Thank you for your protection.
In Jesus name.....amen

We all got the Bug......

As you could see from the prior post...Luke started, then Chris complained of a stomach ache and not feeling well yesterday afternoon. Me, being the supportive wife that I am, kind of blew him off and thought to myself, his stomach always hurts (so no I was not supportive with my inside thoughts). Zach stumbled into our room at 2 am and said his stomach hurt....seconds later he was running to the bathroom. Chris jumped out of bed and opened the door for him because if you know Zach he is not playing when he says he needs to throw up. My stomach hurt, but I thought it was just from overeating, but at approx 4 am I was in the bathroom throwing up.....

Today we are all in recovery mode and still feeling the crud....

Here is hoping tomorrow is a better day!

Poor baby...

Poor baby.....Luke had a rough day! It began with 4 poops (all solid) leaving him with a red bum....nap time was rudely awaken to go to the doctor to get his second 1/2 of the flu shot...only to get back in the car and another poop in the drive thru at the bank, to sit in it until we got home.....only to eat and go back to sleep.....to be again rudely awaken to be dropped off at Jodi's house while mommy went to her hair appointment. Picked up later to have another poop (this one runny) and 10 minutes later another poop (again runny)....then smiling at mom, but seconds later a projectile vomit on mom, her coat, and pants. Came home to rest and another poop (up the back and all over the clothes...straight to the bath....phone call to the doctor, everything fine, just need to keep him hydrated they say......jammies.....bottle (only 2 ounces) and then to bed!

Mommy has checked 4 times tonight and constantly stares at the video monitor! No fever, regular breathing, and no distress....so many worries over poop and one vomit!!

Sorry if this is TMI for some....it's a family blog.....you gotta talk about the bodily functions of a family!!

I love Sleep!!

I had to get up at 3 am to do paperwork prior to going to my job at Kadlec, which I start at 7:30 (ish).....Chris has been feeling ill, so I kindly woke him when his snoring was through the roof (not a typical behavior for him). I was having a hard time sleeping and got about 5 hours sleep. I remember the days when 5 hours of sleep was plenty to get through a long work day and function as if I had 12!! Well, this are not true for the 29 year old mother of two (these days). The first few assessments I did this morning were a little lacking in regards to my focus and questioning.....well I got through them and pray that they could not tell!! Oh well.....I must say, I LOVE my sleep!

God working in our lives....

Chris and I continue to grow in our marriage and I thank God above for being the foundation for us. In the past if I did not get my way, I would push or bully to get it.....why because I felt my way was the most logical! These past few months, I have been humbled to allow God to do the work in my husband, thus the work in me. For example, just last Friday, Chris and I disagreed on something pretty important to me. In the past, I might have stated my case in a million different ways to show that my way must be the right way to do something (I know, not logical thinking, right). Instead, I had to run an errand and prayed to God that I was to allow Chris to be the spiritual leader in our household and that I would support his decision.....even though I knew that my way would be obedient to God. Upon my return home, Chris had stated that as a family we needed to be obedient to God and that he agreed with my decision.

The moral of the story is not that the decision went my way, (believe me, there are plenty of times when this was not the case). It is however, that I have learned to allow my husband to be the spiritual leader of the household as well as let go and let God be the guidance in our marriage. I must say that from what I know.......I feel truly blessed to have Chris as my husband. I look forward to spending the rest of my life with him!

New Years Wrap Up!

So, I have been waiting to post so I could do so in order, however life keeps going at a rapid pace and therefore I am slackin' and behind.

New Years Recap.....
We had a New Years Eve party with the works, including a disco ball, dance floor, karaoke, and much more. It was fun, but let's just say it reminded me of the old days. I must say this will likely be the last New Years party we have! Believe me, we are still totally up to other parties, however must leave New Years behind as it is in a ball game all of it's own....

New Years Day.....
Recovery from no sleep! We picked up Jammers (Luke) from Grandma and Papa's house. It was Luke's first sleep over and kind of sad for his mommy. We knew that he was safe, therefore it made all okay. Later, we picked up Zachary and spent the rest of the day lounging around.
