Gotta love boys...

I spent the last hour updating myself on the blogs that I am following that need our prayers......usually I might get a little frustrated when I look up at my oldest boy, head tipped back, mouth open wide, as what looks like dust trickles in his mouth.....

I call out: Zach what is that?

Looking like he just got caught, Zach: what?

Me: Are you eating a pixie stick at 8 o'clock?

Zach: Mommy, I am reeeeaaaaalllly hungry!

Me: What do you want to eat?

Zach: States nothing, but lowers his head, still making eye contact and gives one of his famous looks......that say something like.....pleeeease, without using the words.

Me: Go ahead and make yourself something

10 minutes pass...............

Me: Zach are you eating chips now?

Zach: Yup

Me: Are you eating them directly off of the kitchen counter?

Zach: Nope....(as he picks them up really quick)

Another funny story.....

This is what I heard all day whispering from the outskirts of our home as Zach played with a neighbor buddy:

Neighbor boy: "Go ahead ask your mom.......ask her"

Zach: (very non-chalantly): Ummmm.....mom, we were wondering can we_____________ (fill in the blank with everything they asked they could do today)

And another................

Me: Neighbor boy, do you want to have dinner with us tonight? ( ....no I do not call him this, but I don't want to use his name to protect his privacy)

Neighbor boy: Um.....is it okay? Are you asking me? (shocked I think).....um, yes and thank you.

**He is truly such a polite little boy.....Zach could pick up a few of these from him!

Happy 10th Birthday Zach!!

Zachary had a wonderful birthday (with the exception of being sick and having to stay home from school). We started the morning with Carl's Jr....I know not a wise mommy choice, however Zach was so sad because he got a contagious rash on his face and had to stay home from school for 2 days. Anyway, I told him who else gets to party when they stay home from school. This made it a tad bit better.

Zach got lots of money for his birthday and he has not quite decided what he is going to buy with it. We went to Applebees (his pick) and he opened card after card with money it in. It was fun to watch his eyes get bigger and bigger. Then later we got the mail and even more money and cards.....thanks everyone for a great birthday.

Thank you for your prayers for our Pastor and his family....

I received an email from our pastor Johnsen reporting that his wife Gail and Danae that were in the car accident last Friday are doing well. Gail has a minor foot fracture and Danae is doing well. I am unsure about the family in the other car at this time. Praise God for protecting their lives....the doctor was shocked that they had such minor injuries.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY for their emotional healing. As a therapist, I tend to focus on this.....and even when the cuts, bruises, and bones have healed...many times our hearts have not.

Pastor Johnsen thanks all those that have prayed for him and his family.

My Heart Aches....

So I went from being TOTALLY annoyed tonight.....to the complete opposite of an aching heart. Work was rough with a baby not doing well, then to be reminded of my pastor's family (with still no update of how they are doing), then to being reminded of our friend's Jerritt and Hailey's daughter Tatum needed heart surgery (PLEASE PRAY FOR THEM), then to reading about baby Stellan in the PICU with SVT, then to reading my SIL, Jenn's blog to see another baby Bentley not doing well.

I must trust that God has a plan for all of these, even if it does not align with my desires. I ask myself daily, "Why are we so fortunate that we get two beautiful, healthy boys?" It is something that I cannot wrap my mind around.

I am guilty of falling trap to the negativity of this world, but then I am urgently reminded that there are many others that need our prayer and that our Almighty God has the Ultimate Plan.....so I must trust in Him.

Have a wonderful night and remember to tell those around you that you love them!! For those of you close in my life, I love you!

Zach has been loving baseball and we are so proud of his efforts last year to improve. He walked out on the field this year with a new confidence and definitely a better game! He has been practicing pitching and catching! As his mom, nothing is better than watching him do so well at something he loves so much. We are so proud of you son!!
