Prayers for Our Friends....

Please take a little time to say a prayer for our friends, Mandy and Kyle regarding their little love bug Ava. No, she is not ill and is doing fairly well. However, Mandy is emotionally exhausted. Ava is just turning 3 weeks old and is inconsolable. They are trying all of the tricks of the trade, but she is just not resting.

The thing that breaks my heart is that the first 6 months of Luke's life were bitter sweet. He was our everything and we could not imagine life before him entering our family. However, they were very trying, emotional, anxiety filled days. You see, Luke not only had colic, but he was not diagnosed with reflux until he was over 3 months old. He literally SCREAMED so hard every time in his car seat that we simply did not take him many places. Every time we got the courage to go somewhere, after one errand, we were spent and ready to feel like you were going through the roof!! I think what is so hard is watching one of my best friends suffer through this, because colic and reflux is like suffering. You can no longer breastfeed your baby, you wake up every 3 hours to pump your milk, and then feed it through a bottle with a thickening agent, called "thickit". You dare to breastfeed on occasion, however he projectile vomits the entire feeding, thus now leaving him in pain, hungry, and now you have no milk supply. He would not sleep and was EASILY startled. If his arms so much as moved the first three months while he slept, it was all over. Thank God, seriously Praise God for answering our prayers and after many nights of hearing him scream, and every 10 minutes going in to calm him, wrap him up, and leave him again, only to have him Scream again, he finally learned to sleep at night on his own. This did mean, however that he NEVER slept during the day more than 15-30 minutes at a time....

I guess what I am saying is pray for our friends, Mandy, Kyle, and Baby Ava.....because we do not want them to have to go through any of this.

For those that have it much worse out there, such as baby Jonah, Bentley, Brayden and so many more, we are also still praying for you!!

Please pray for our dear friend's Hailey and Jerritt (and their family). Below is their post:

"This past weekend and week has been bitter sweet for our family. Tatum needed heart surgery, which was done and successful on friday. We feel so lucky to have had both sets of parents (Tatum's grandparents) with us. However, we have experienced a family tragedy in the mean time. Jerritt's father paased away unexpectedly on Easter sunday night. We have all been in quite a shock since.Due to the nature of the situation, Tatum and I were able to come home from Seattle. She is doing well from a surgical standpoint. We will be watching her closely medically. Her blood pressure is still not acceptable (on the high side) but with medicine and time we should be on the right track. We will be visiting doctors here in our community frequently. Please keep us in your prayers (especially Jerritt and his mother and brothers).Thank You all!!"
